You may find a nugget or two helpful.
When all you hear is what you want to hear, you aren’t paying attention.
Listen closely, even if you don’t agree. That’s how you grow.
Fantasizing about other times and places can be dangerous. Clinging tightly to the past or dreaming fervently about the future may mean you’re missing out on the real value and beauty of the here and now. Curb your imagination a bit and smell the roses.
Do you find yourself wasting time while waiting for the ideal path to appear? It never does, does it? Paths are made by walking, not waiting.
You will never be as confident as you’d like to be. If you aren’t courageous enough to take the next step you’re fooling yourself. Action builds confidence.
Distractions will get the best of you if you let them. Study your daily routine, figure out where your time goes and eliminate things that sidetrack you.
There’s a big difference between empty fatigue and gratifying exhaustion. Know the difference. Invest in the activities (and relationships) you deeply care about. Value what you expend your energy on. Stay focused on what matters.
Self-neglect is more common than you might think and it’s not easily recognized. Caregivers often neglect their own needs because they are totally focused on a loved one or a patient. Self-enrichment means paying yourself first.
There’s nothing selfish about self-care and self-love. You can’t give what you don’t have and you can’t give your best if you’re not at your best.
The way you respond to an event is more powerful than the event itself. A small slice of life is decided by uncontrollable circumstances, but the vast majority of life is decided by the way you respond. The end result depends on how you’ve played the hand you were dealt.
Change is uncomfortable. That’s just part of the growth process. Things will get better. Be patient.
Patience is the ability to keep a positive, focused attitude while working to move your life forward. It’s not about waiting.
